The Directorate of Mines and Geology, Govt. of Goa on June 19, 2025, issued the Goa (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Storage and Transportation of Minerals) (Eighth Amendment) Rules, 2025, to further amend the Goa (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Storage and Transportation of Minerals) Rules, 2013.
This shall come into effect from July 28, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In rule 26, sub-rule (2), the expression "within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860)", shall be substituted with the expression "as defined in clause (28) of section 2 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act No. 45 of 2023)".
• In rule 27, the expression "section 100 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974)" shall be substituted with the expression "section 103 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act No. 46 of 2023)".
